University Students Organized an awareness session titled ‘Say No to Drug”.

An awareness session titled “Say No to Drugs” was organized by the University of Gwadar Management and Commerce Students, in Collaboration with the AntiNorcotics Force to increase drug awareness and highlight the issue of drug abuse and illicit trafficking and its impact on society.

Addressing the occasion, Guest Speaker, Deputy Director ANF Ali Aslam Turk, highlighted several causes observed in the young generations who get subjected to drug addiction. Further, he shared insights into the physiological, psychological, and societal impact of drug abuse. Their presentations aimed to debunk myths and provide accurate information to the attendees. The proposed recommendations such as self-belief, self-control, reduction in communication gaps, strong family bonding, self-awareness, and involvement in healthy activities as a workable way to counter the drug’s inclination.

The speaker also highlighted that the main reasons for drug inclination might include depression, peer pressure, unintentional dependency on medicines, and lack of self-control to enhance performance. They suggested treating a drug addict as a patient and always being empathetic to his rehabilitation process.

The session witnessed active participation from students, faculty, and staff. In the end, Mr. Zain ul Abideen the HoD of the Commerce Department thanked the distinguished guests and presented a commemorative shield on behalf of the worthy Vice Chancellor UG Prof. Abdul Razzaq Sabir.
