University of Gwadar Celebrates Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day and “Marka-e-Haq” with National Zeal and Spirit

The University of Gwadar commemorated Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day and “Marka-e-Haq” with great national unity and enthusiasm. The day began with a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony at the Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute, University of Gwadar.
The formal proceedings commenced in the Main Seminar Hall of the university’s main block with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the national anthem. To mark the occasion, a speech competition on Independence Day and “Marka-e-Haq” was held, in which students from the University of Gwadar and Degree College Gwadar delivered passionate speeches, expressing their deep national spirit and commitment to the country’s values.
The Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, in his address, stated that August 14 is not just a historic day, but a reminder of renewed determination, courage, and sacrifice. He emphasized that it reminds us of the unparalleled sacrifices made by our forefathers for the creation of Pakistan. He added that the true essence of freedom is realized only when it is utilized for the nation’s development, progress, and the welfare of its people.
The Vice Chancellor further stressed that for peace, stability, and development in the region, every individual must fulfill their responsibilities—particularly the youth, who must embrace quality education and uphold social values to ensure a bright future for Pakistan. He urged students to channel their talents and hard work towards the country’s advancement so that Pakistan can stand among the developed nations of the world.
He also underscored the importance of promoting unity, tolerance, and mutual respect to build a strong, prosperous, and peaceful Pakistan. Paying tribute to the martyrs of “Marka-e-Haq,” he affirmed that their sacrifices will always be remembered, and it is our collective duty to carry forward their mission.
At the end of the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir presented shields to the outstanding participants of the speech competition. The event was attended by the university administration, deans, faculty members, principals and teachers from Degree College Gwadar and Inter College Pishkan, along with a large number of students who celebrated the day with great national pride.
