The University of Gwadar enthusiastically celebrated Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day, honoring the nation's spirit of freedom. The event, held in the University Main Seminar Hall, was graced by Commander 440 Brigade, Brigadier Ehtisham, the chief guest, alongside the university’s distinguished Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed. The other main participants and speakers were the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Registrar UG Prof. Dolat Khan, Principal of Government Degree College Gwadar Prof. Zaheer Ahmed, Principal of Government Inter College Pishkan Prof. Adil Baloch, Director of ORIC UG Muhammad Irshad Buledi, Director of Finance Rehmatullah, and faculty and administrative staff from the university and college.
The celebration commenced with the solemn rendition of the national anthem, stirring patriotic sentiments among all attendees. The chief guest, in his address, spoke about the enduring sacrifices made by the people of Pakistan and the vital role of educational institutions in shaping a prosperous future for the country. He commended the University of Gwadar for its commitment to academic excellence and nation-building.
Prof. Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, also addressed the gathering, reflecting on the significance of Independence Day. He emphasized the role of education in fostering unity, progress, and national pride. "Our students are the future leaders of Pakistan, and it is our responsibility to equip them with the knowledge and values that will guide them in serving our great nation," Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ahmed stated.
The other speakers on this occasion emphasized the significance of Pakistan's Independence Day, reflecting on the sacrifices made by the nation’s founders and the ongoing efforts to uphold the principles of freedom and sovereignty.
At the end of the event, Prof. Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed presented a commemorative shield to the chief guest on behalf of Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Vice Chancellor of the University of Gwadar.
