Caretaker Prime Minister Pakistan presided over a meeting of Vice Chancellors of Public Sector Universities of Balochistan.

Caretaker Prime Minister Pakistan Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar presided over the meeting of vice-chancellors of public sector universities. The meeting was held at Quetta on 27th August 2023.

besides Vice chancellors of public sector universities of Balochistan Chief Minister Balochistan Ali Mardan Domki , Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Minster Education Dr. Qadir Bakhsh Baloch, Minster Finance Rashid Amjad, Secretary Education and Finance were present on the occasion.

The Vice-Chancellor University of Gwadar Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir briefed the honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan regarding the University of Gwadar and its rapid growth. He also mentioned the different issues faced by the Universities in far-flung areas like Makran. The Prime Minister assured the UG Vice Chancellor that he would soon visit the region.

The participants of the meeting briefed the Prime Minister regarding the progress and problems faced in higher education in Balochistan.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister said in his address that he reiterated to remove all obstacles in the way of higher education and bring it to international standards. He said that our youth and our manpower are very important assets for achieving a better future for Pakistan. Multiple opportunities will be provided to the youth in Pakistan to pursue higher education so that our talented youth can play their role effectively in the development of the country. The lack of innovation in Pakistan is related to a lack of research and higher education. He further said that the promotion of research and new inventions should be ensured in universities. The Prime Minister directed the participants of the meeting to plan to make higher education in universities a stable base for modern research. Ensure that students graduating from universities have the professional skills and competencies required by industries. The industries of the country should set up incubation centers in the universities so that students can get opportunities for contemporary research. Such initiatives will provide trained manpower for industries in the country and pave the way for the industrial revolution. The country's continuous provision of quality higher education will improve all spheres of life.
