An awareness session on the topic of “Climate Change on Desi Perspective” was held at the University of Gwadar in collaboration with the Institute of Reginal Studies Islamabad on May 04th, 2023.
The keynote speakers including Ms. Reema Shoukat Communication Strategist from the Institute of Regional Studies, Islamabad, Talah Tufail environmentalist, and Ms. Lahraib, Research Assistant were welcomed by the Director of Students Affairs Sadia Naseer to University for a very fruitful awareness Session with students and faculty members in the university seminar Hall.
Talha Tufail, an environmentalist and Assistant Research Officer- Climate Change in Strengthening Regional Climate Resilience was the session's keynote speaker. He gave his presentation on the coastal environment and climate change.
The speakers provided valuable insights on the pressing issue of climate change, sharing their expertise and experiences with the attendees.
The session emphasized the importance of taking steps to mitigate the effects of climate change and served as a reminder of the need for cooperation among nations to achieve sustainable development.
The Session was attended by Registrar UG Dolat Khan, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Head of Departments, Director of Students Affairs Ms. Sadia Naseer, Faculty members, and students.
Earlier the delegation from the Institute of Regional Studies was called on to the Vice Chancellor University of Gwadar Prof. Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir (TI) in his chamber. The Vice-Chancellor discussed various topics of common interest mainly related to the Coastal belt of Balochistan. He also presented tokens of appreciation to the distinguished guests.
