In the seminar hall of the University of Gwadar, an awareness seminar regarding the "Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2016" was organized by the University of Gwadar in collaboration with Ombudsperson Balochistan for protection against harassment of women in the workplace.

Ms. Sadia Naseer, In-Charge of Student Affairs, and her team welcomed the guests to the university.

Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim Kakar, Assistant Director Ombudsperson, presented the presentation about the Harassment Act 2016.

Advocate Sabira Islam, Provincial Ombudsperson on Harassment, addressed the students and faculty of the University of Gwadar. Addressing the seminar, she said, "Lack of awareness regarding harassment among women is one of the main reasons for the commission's workplace harassment”. Our women feel frightened to file complaints against cases pertaining to harassment. Constituting an act will be useless if proper implementation is not ensured. We are determined to ensure the proper implementation of the act.

She also requested the parents to come forward and help their children to boost their confidence to bring forward the cases so that they could be tackled according to the law. She also added that their main aim is to safeguard the rights of women at the professional level and to provide them with equal opportunities to grow and prosper within their respective fields. She also attended the question-answer session where she resolved the queries coming from students and faculty of the university and motivated them to ensure they did not hesitate to complain about any situation that occurred with anyone.

On behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Mr. Muktar Bashir, Chairperson Education Department, thanked the Provincial Ombudsperson Advocate Sabira Islam and her team for arranging the comprehensive awareness session about the harassment faced by women at the workplace and assured them that the University of Gwadar will never tolerate any act of harassment on its premises and will always be ready to take legal action against anyone involved in such activity.
