On Friday, Major General Habib Nawaz, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 44 Division of the Pakistan Army, visited the University of Gwadar and the Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute (PCT&VI). During his visit, he received a detailed briefing about various departments, administrative functions, faculty, and academic activities of the university. Following the briefing, an extensive interaction session was held with faculty members and students. The session focused on important topics such as youth education, discipline, moral values, patriotism, and the role of young people in national development. In his address, Major General Habib Nawaz said: “People from all parts of Pakistan wish to witness the beauty of Gwadar. It is only through unity and collective efforts that we can truly develop this beautiful region. Development is not merely about roads or buildings; discipline and good governance are the true foundations of a developed nation, and these are essential qualities for the new generation. For students, hard work, dedication, and a positive mindset are of utmost importance. To move Gwadar forward is to move Pakistan forward. If you advance through knowledge and skills, Gwadar, Balochistan, and Pakistan will all progress together. Choosing a negative path always leads to despair. We must all move forward together for the development of Gwadar. When you refine your abilities, success will naturally follow you.” Major General Habib Nawaz appreciated the rapid progress of the University of Gwadar in a short span of time, its quality educational environment, the competence of its faculty, and the growing confidence of its students. He said that the institution has immense potential to produce future leaders. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir gave a detailed briefing to the distinguished guest about the establishment of the university, ongoing projects, BS and postgraduate programs, diploma courses, and the training activities at the Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute. He stated that the university is not only providing quality education but is also taking multiple initiatives to practically empower youth—so that graduates become job creators rather than job seekers. Later, the GOC visited various departments of PCT&VI and the University of Gwadar, including the library, smart classrooms, laboratories, and workshops. He appreciated the faculty, training standards, and modern facilities of the institution, saying that such a strong system of education and training will play a vital role in the region’s development. At the end of the session, a question-and-answer segment was held, during which students asked questions related to education, career development, and future guidance. Major General Habib Nawaz encouraged the students and responded with insightful and inspiring answers. The visit concluded with the presentation of a commemorative shield to the distinguished guest.
