The University of Gwadar and the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster cooperation in the fields of education, research, and urban development. The signing ceremony took place at the University of Gwadar, with representatives from both institutions in attendance, marking a significant milestone in the development of the region.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Vice Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, and Mr. Shafqat Anwar Shawani, Director General of the Gwadar Development Authority. The agreement aims to enhance collaboration between the two institutions, focusing on joint research projects, academic support for urban planning initiatives, and internships for students to gain practical experience within GDA’s ongoing development projects.
Under the terms of the MoU, both parties will work closely on urban development research, sustainable city planning, and capacity building. The University of Gwadar will also provide academic and technical expertise to assist the GDA in its future projects.
The collaboration is expected to create new opportunities for students and faculty, allowing them to engage with industry professionals and contribute to the region's growth. This MoU is a reflection of the University of Gwadar’s commitment to playing an active role in the development of the city and the wider Balochistan region.
