University of Gwadar’s QEC Concludes Program Review for Academic Enhancement

  • 09 May, 2025
The University of Gwadar’s Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) conducted a Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE). The review encompassed programs under two faculties: the Faculty of Management Sciences, Economics & Social Sciences (BS Commerce, BS Economics, BS English, and BBA) and the Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology (BS Chemistry, BS Information Technology, and BS Data Science). The assessment teams comprised both University of Gwadar faculty members and external experts. For the Faculty of Management Sciences, Economics & Social Sciences, the assessment panel included two University of Gwadar faculty members—Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad (Dean, Faculty of MSESC) and Ms. Shahnaz Noor (Head, Department of Education)—and an external expert, Dr. Abdul Qayoum (Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, University of Turbat). For the Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology, the panel consisted of two University of Gwadar faculty members—Dr. Mohibullah (Dean, Faculty of EST) and Dr. Abdullah (Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry)—and an external member, Dr. Rashid Ali (Chairperson, Department of Computer Science, University of Turbat). The internal and external members evaluated the Self-Assessment Reports (SARs) prepared by the program teams in line with the PREE standards proposed in the PSG 2023 document by QAA-HEC. The reviewers assessed documentation, interacted with faculty and students, and reviewed academic facilities and resources. Dr. Rabia Aslam, Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell, commended the collaborative efforts of all participants and emphasized the importance of continuous self-assessment in enhancing academic quality and institutional development.
