Vice Chancellor of the University of Gwadar meets the new Chairman of HEC in Islamabad and discusses higher education matters.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, paid an official visit to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Islamabad, where he met with the newly appointed Chairman, Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, at his office. The Vice Chancellor UG congratulated him on assuming the office of Chairman HEC and presented a bouquet as a gesture of goodwill and best wishes. During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor provided a comprehensive briefing on the overall academic progress of the University of Gwadar, ongoing administrative reforms, current development schemes, and future strategic plans. He highlighted the key challenges faced by a newly established public sector university, particularly the recruitment of qualified faculty, infrastructure development of the permanent campus, promotion of a research culture, launch of new academic programs, and provision of modern educational facilities for students.
Chairman HEC, Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, appreciated the progress made by the University of Gwadar and assured full support for enhancing the institution’s capacity and promoting quality higher education. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor formally invited the Chairman to visit Gwadar. Accepting the invitation, he stated that he would soon visit Quetta and would include Gwadar in his priorities at an appropriate time.
Subsequently, the Vice Chancellor also met with the newly appointed Executive Director of HEC, Prof Dr. Zia Ul Haq. The meeting focused on strengthening institutional linkages, quality enhancement measures, accreditation requirements, development grants, and policy-level support. The Executive Director assured that HEC would continue to extend full cooperation in enhancing the academic and research capabilities of the University of Gwadar and ensuring its institutional stability and growth.
