University of Gwadar’s Comprehensive Academic Vision, High-Level Meeting Held on Effective Planning for Zero Semester Classes, Scholarship Sessions, and Training Programs

A high-level meeting was held at the University of Gwadar, chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir. The meeting was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed, Registrar Dr. Daulat Khan, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Dean Faculty of Science and Engineering Dr. Muhib ullah, Director Finance Rehmatullah, Director Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) Dr. Rabia Aslam, Director Office of Research and Commercialization (ORIC) Dr. Muhammad Irshad, Deputy Registrar Abdul Majid, and Public Relations Officer Naseer Muhammad.
The meeting reviewed in detail the preparations and arrangements for the upcoming Zero Semester classes at the University of Gwadar. It was highlighted that the University of Gwadar is the only institution in the province that has been consistently conducting Zero Semester classes for the past three years. Under this program, newly admitted students are taught English, Mathematics, and fundamental science subjects to build a strong academic foundation for their higher studies.
The participants also discussed preparations for the upcoming HEC Undergraduate Scholarship Orientation Session for FATA and Balochistan, which aims to guide students on scholarship procedures, eligibility criteria, and available educational opportunities. The session is designed to encourage maximum student participation and awareness about the scholarship program.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed the recent notification issued by the Governor’s Secretariat of Balochistan, directing all public universities to regularly organize academic and social awareness seminars and workshops for students and faculty. It was noted that although the University of Gwadar has already been organizing such seminars, workshops, and conferences regularly, future activities will be made more systematic, purposeful, and impactful to further enhance students’ academic, social, and ethical awareness.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir instructed all Deans and Directors to ensure effective planning and timely execution of Zero Semester classes, scholarship sessions, and training seminars within their respective departments. He emphasized that such initiatives will further strengthen the University of Gwadar’s standing as a model institution in the province, known for its academic excellence and student capacity building.
