The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of the University of Gwadar organized a one-day seminar on “Ensuring Quality in Qualitative Research: Standards and Best Practices” at the Main Block Seminar Hall. The seminar was led by Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Commerce & Social Sciences, who delivered a comprehensive talk on the essential elements of qualitative research. He emphasized the importance of credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability in ensuring research quality. His session also covered strategies for designing robust research questions, effective data collection, and ethical considerations in fieldwork. The seminar was attended by a diverse group of faculty members, administrative staff, and students, reflecting the University’s commitment to building a strong research culture across all levels of academia. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions on the challenges commonly faced in qualitative research, such as maintaining objectivity and ensuring data validity. The interactive nature of the seminar created an enriching learning environment for both early-career researchers and experienced academics. The session concluded with a question-and-answer segment, during which participants raised thoughtful queries related to research design, fieldwork, and data analysis. Dr. Jan Muhammad responded to the questions with practical insights, making the session highly engaging and informative.
