The Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Gwadar marked a key milestone by convening its second Board of Studies meeting for the M.Phil. Education program. Chaired by Madam Shahnaz Noor, Chairperson of the Department of Education, the meeting aimed to establish a comprehensive academic framework for the M.Phil. program and review the BS programs introduced in 2023 to align with UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION POLICY 2023.
The Board of Studies meeting took place at the conference room at PCTVI UG, gathering esteemed academic experts from across the region. Notable participants included Prof Dr Jan Muhammad, Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Commerce, and Social Sciences at the University of Gwadar; Madam Mahnaz, Assistant Professor from the University of Turbat; Prof Dr. Nehmat Ullah from Lasbela University of Water and Management Science and Agriculture; Dr. Rabia, Assistant Professor in the Education Department at the University of Gwadar; and Mukhtar Bashir, Lecturer in the Education Department at the University of Gwadar.
Madam Shahnaz Noor presented the proposed structure for the two-year M.Phil. Education program, outlining 24 credit hours of coursework for the first year and dedicated research in the second year. The Board members engaged in a collaborative review of the course content, policies, and credit allocation, with a focus on developing a curriculum that integrates research, educational theory, and applied methodologies to prepare students for impactful careers in the education sector.
