University of Gwadar Advances Toward Technological Excellence with Focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The University of Gwadar continues its journey toward technological advancement and academic innovation with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The 5th Board of Studies (BoS) meeting of the Department of Computer Science was convened under the chairmanship of Dr. Mohib Ullah, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, Engineering & Technology, at the PCT&VI, University of Gwadar. The meeting was attended by Mr. Shayhaq Ali, Chairperson, Department of Computer Science; Dr. Rashid Ali, Lecturer & Acting Chairperson, Department of Computer Science, University of Turbat; Dr. Rabia Aslam, Director QEC; Mr. Hafeezullah, Lecturer, Department of Computer Science; Ms. Haim Gul, Lecturer, Department of Computer Science; Mr. Syed Ahmed Khan, Lecturer, Department of Computer Science, FAST-NUCES, Karachi; and Mr. Nasir Ali, Teaching Fellow, Department of Computer Science, University of Gwadar. The meeting commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by welcome remarks from the Chair, who commended the Department’s dedication and timely efforts in reviewing and restructuring the BS Computer Science curriculum in accordance with the latest HEC framework. A major agenda item of the meeting was the formal review and recommendation of the revised BS Computer Science (2025) curriculum, as notified by the HEC. The Board thoroughly discussed and endorsed the restructured BS Computer Science and Associate Degree in Computing (AD Computing) programs, along with their detailed course syllabi. The Board also recommended that the updated BS Computer Science program, featuring market-driven specializations, be forwarded to the Academic Council for approval. Additionally, the Board approved a new course coding scheme for BS Computer Science and AD Computing programs in alignment with the National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC) guidelines and constituted a committee to develop comprehensive guidelines for the Final Year Project (FYP). Highlighting the significance of AI-driven education, Dr. Mohib Ullah stated, “Artificial Intelligence is reshaping industries across the globe. To ensure our graduates remain future-ready, they must acquire emerging technological skills to drive Pakistan’s digital transformation.” He further emphasized that the University of Gwadar aims to evolve into a center of excellence in Artificial Intelligence and computing education, aligned with both national priorities and global technological trends. In his closing remarks, the Chair extended appreciation to all members for their valuable insights and constructive contributions toward advancing the University’s academic, technological, and strategic vision.
