The closing ceremony of the month-long National Outreach Training Program was held simultaneously at the University of Gwadar and the University of Turbat on Tuesday. The program aimed to enhance teaching quality and provide academic support and guidance to faculty for effective instruction.
The highlight of the event was the participation of the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, who joined as the chief guest via video link and addressed the faculty. Other notable attendees included Ms. Noor Amina Malik, Managing Director of the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), Vice Chancellors of the University of Gwadar and the University of Turbat, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir and Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan, as well as NAHE representatives Ms. Saadia Bukhari and Mr. Sohail Mangi. Additionally, the Registrars of both universities, Mr. Daulat Khan and Mr. Gangzar Baloch, the Controller of Examinations at the University of Gwadar, Prof. Dr. Raheem Bakhsh Mehr, the Directors of the Quality Enhancement Cells (QEC) of both institutions, Dr. Rabia and Dr. Riaz Ahmed, and participating faculty members were also present.
In his address, Chairman HEC Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed appreciated the efforts of the NAHE team and the administration of both universities, especially Dr. Muhammad Irshad and Chakar Haider, who served as focal persons for the program. He also commended Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Vice Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, for his contributions to higher education in Balochistan, particularly in the Makran region. He acknowledged Dr. Sabir’s role in establishing the University of Turbat under challenging circumstances and his ongoing efforts to develop the University of Gwadar on a strong foundation. Dr. Mukhtar urged faculty members to implement the knowledge and skills acquired during the training in their classrooms to improve academic standards.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Vice Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, thanked Chairman HEC and the NAHE team for providing this valuable opportunity to the faculty, which is particularly significant for a newly established university.
Similarly, Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Turbat, also expressed gratitude to Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed and Ms. Noor Amina Malik, acknowledging their continued support as a source of encouragement for both universities. He invited the Chairman of HEC to visit both institutions to engage with faculty and further strengthen academic collaboration.
During the closing ceremony, certificates were awarded to the participants who successfully completed the training, recognizing their dedication and achievement. In the end, Mr. Daulat Khan, Registrar of the University of Gwadar, presented a shield on behalf of the Vice Chancellor to the NAHE team as a token of appreciation.
The National Outreach Training Program has proven to be a significant step toward enhancing the teaching capabilities of faculty at both universities. It will enable them to align with modern teaching methodologies and effective instructional principles, ultimately improving the quality of education.
