The opening ceremony for the Pakistan-China Technical and Vocational Institute (hereinafter PCT&VI)’s local instructor training program was held simultaneously in Jinan, China, and Gwadar Port, Pakistan, via video link. Ahmed Manzoor, vice principal of the Gwadar University of Pakistan, the principal of Pakistan-China Technical and Vocational Institute (hereinafter PCT&VI), and Wang Xin, president of Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology (hereinafter SICT), as well as the relevant department heads and staffs of the SICT's International Exchange Department and the faculties that undertake instructor training program, attended the ceremony.
The ceremony was presided over by Song Chao, vice president of SICT. Wang Xin expressed gratitude to PCT&VI for their support and welcomed 6 teachers participating in the training. She hoped they would acquire Chinese communication skills, and master vocational education planning and digital resource-building techniques while experiencing new developments in China. Ahmed Manzoor thanked SICT for its efforts at PCT&VI, which has a good reputation in Pakistan, especially in Balochistan. He emphasized that cooperation between China and Pakistan is crucial for vocational education. He hoped that the trainees would study professional knowledge and teaching methods earnestly in China and use them to cultivate high-level talents for Pakistan in the future.
Du Yingling, teacher of the Cold Chain Logistics and Supply Chain Industry School of SICT, welcomed Pakistani teachers on behalf of all trainers of the program. She assured rich training content sharing with Pakistani teachers to achieve mutual benefits. Zubair from PCT&VI expressed gratitude for the warm reception from SICT on behalf of the 6 Pakistani teachers. He also expressed his honor to be recommended and sponsored by Gwadar Port Authority, Pakistan to study in SICT. He hoped to enhance his professional skills and teaching abilities by learning Chinese, Chinese culture, and the Chinese vocational education model so that he could better train students at PCT&VI after returning to Pakistan.
This project for the local instructor training is based on the cooperation agreement signed by SICT with Gwadar Port Authority, Gwadar University in Pakistan, and China Overseas Port Holding Co., Ltd. It is a customized instructor training program for 6 months, jointly organized by SICT and the participating colleges in Shandong province. It aims to benefit the teaching, management, research, innovation, and social service capabilities of Pakistani teachers, enhance the local internationalization level of PCT&VI, and become a successful practice of China-Pakistan educational cooperation. After the opening ceremony, Wang Xin, president of SICT, gave the First Lecture to Pakistani teachers.
