A National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (NACTE) team visited the University of Gwadar from 9th to 10th February 2023 to assess and evaluate B.Ed. (Hons) 4 years, 2.5-, and 1.5-year programs offered by the university of Gwadar. The Academic Evaluator team of NACTE consisted of experienced educators and researchers in the field of teacher education including Dr. Mian Hamid Hassan, the team leader, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalid Mahmood, Secretary NACTE, and Dr. Abdul Nasir Kiazi, Director, Institute of Education & Research, University of Balochistan, Quetta.
The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the teacher education programs offered by the university of Gwadar and to facilitate the university in enhancing and ensuring the quality of education in teacher education programs. On arrival at the university Gwadar Academic Block III, the NACTE team was welcomed by Dolat Khan, Registrar University of Gwadar, along with Dr. Jan Muhammad, Dean of Social Sciences, Assistant Professor and Director QEC Dr. Kambar Farooq, Mukhtar Bashir, Chairperson Education Department, Ms. Shahnaz Noor, Ms. Sadia Naseer Lecturer Education Department, administrative staff and faculty members of the Education Department.
During the opening meeting, Registrar Dolat Khan welcomes the NATCE team in his welcome address. He praised NACTE’s commitment to promoting high-quality teacher education programs in Pakistan. Ms. Sadia Naseer, Lecturer in the Department of Education briefed the NACTE team about the background of the University through a multimedia presentation. Sharing views on the occasion, the chairperson of the Education Department Mukhtar Bashir presented a detailed overview of the academic programs, curricular and extracurricular activities, infrastructure, faculty and student strength, and other facilities available at the Education Department. Speaking on the occasion, the Sectary NACTE highlighted the functions and scope of the NACTE.
In the exit meeting, the NACTE team called on Prof, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, and discussed the university's vision and plans for future growth and development of teacher education. The NACTE team appreciated the teamwork and collective efforts of the faculty members, administrative staff, deans, and especially under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir for the academic development of the university including teacher education programs. Meanwhile, Worthy Vice Chancellor UG presented the university's commemorative shield to the NACTE team members. Mukhtar Bashir Chairperson Education Department extended his gratitude to the academic and administrative officials of the university including the Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Dean Faculty, and Director QEC for their support during the NACTE team visit to the university.
