HEC Launches Faculty Development Program at the University of Gwadar

The University of Gwadar's conference room hosted the inaugural ceremony of a three-week faculty capacity-building training program under the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan's National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE). This program, organized in collaboration with NAHE and the University of Gwadar, aims to enhance the professional development of university faculty, improve teaching methods, and strengthen research capabilities.
Notable participants attended the ceremony, including Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Vice Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Manzoor Ahmed, Controller of Examinations Professor Dr. Raheem Bakhsh Mehr, Director ORIC Muhammad Irshad, and faculty members from various academic departments. Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Turbat and a resource person from NAHE, was also present.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, ED HEC Dr. Zia ul Qayyum and Dr. Noor Amna Malik, Managing Director of NAHE, Muhammad Sulaiman and Sohail Raza Mangi AD NAHE  for including the University of Gwadar in the National Outreach Program (NOP). He praised HEC and NAHE for providing the university's young faculty with opportunities to enhance their academic skills. Prof. Dr. Sabir emphasized that faculty development is the foundation of academic excellence and institutional growth.
In his speech, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ahmed encouraged participants to actively engage in the training sessions, highlighting the importance of enhancing their academic and professional skills, teaching methods, and leadership abilities. He praised HEC's policies and initiatives that align with various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promote global best practices in education. Prof Dr. Manzoor Ahmed further stated that HEC and NAHE should prioritize the University of Gwadar in the future, emphasizing that the Makran Division, particularly Turbat, is a key area for human resource development in Balochistan.
Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Turbat and a resource person highlighted the program's objectives and its crucial role in promoting academic excellence. He encouraged participants to take advantage of the opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and adopt modern practices in their respective fields.
This three-week training program will consist of interactive workshops, seminars, and practical sessions designed to equip faculty members with modern teaching techniques and research skills. This initiative underscores HEC's vision to improve the quality of higher education across Pakistan.
