The 9th Academic Council meeting of the University of Gwadar was held at the Conference Room of the Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute, University of Gwadar. The meeting was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir. The participants included Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ahmed, Registrar Dr. Dolat Khan, Controller of Examinations Prof. Dr. Raheem Bakhsh Mehr, Dean of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Jan Mohammad, Dean of Sciences Dr. Mohib Ullah, Director Finance Rehmatullah, Director QEC Dr. Rabia Aslam, Chairman Department of Management Sciences Fida Hussain, Chairperson Department of Education Ms. Shehnaz Noor, Lecturer Department of Education Mukhtar Bashir, Lecturer Department of Computer Science Ms. Haim Gul, Librarian Ghulam Sarwar, and Director ORIC Muhammad Irshad. Furthermore, distinguished members joined the meeting online, including Mr. Jehanzaib, Additional Secretary Colleges, Higher & Technical Education Department, Government of Balochistan, and Dr. Fareeda Anjum, Director Curriculum, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. The session began with the confirmation and approval of the proceedings of the 8th meeting, followed by a review of the implementation of previous decisions. The Quality Enhancement Cell report was also presented, highlighting academic reforms and student performance. The Council reiterated its commitment to strengthening academic standards and institutional growth. During the meeting, the Council approved the renaming of undergraduate degree programs. It also endorsed the thesis format and guidelines for BS programs, as well as the proceedings of joint faculty meetings, including the Faculty of Management, Sciences, Commerce & Social Sciences and the Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology. Amendments to the semester rules and regulations were approved, along with the implementation of a standardized enrollment numbering system for the University. Additionally, the Council approved the restructuring of student fees for degrees, transcripts, and related services, and ratified the proceedings of the 2nd Board of Studies of the Department of Education. The 4th Board of Studies of the Department of Computer Science was also reviewed and approved. Other key matters discussed included the allocation of reserved seats for FATA students, the establishment of an Iqbal Corner in the central library, and the implementation of federal education policies. Addressing the meeting, the Vice Chancellor stated that the University of Gwadar, located in a city of strategic importance, is steadily emerging as a hub of academic and research excellence. He appreciated the dedication and support of the Higher Education Commission, Government of Balochistan, faculty members, and administration, which are driving the University’s rapid progress. The meeting concluded with the Vice Chancellor presenting shields to the honorable members of the Academic Council in recognition of their contributions.
