A two-day training program on active learning strategies at Gwadar University.

University of Gwadar Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir said that training and development are important for the development of educational institutions. He expressed his appreciation for initiatives such as this training program in the University, aimed at enhancing the teaching and learning experience for both faculty and students. He expressed these views on the occasion of a two-day training program organized by the University of Gwadar at UG from September 21-22, 2023 in collaboration with the University of Balochistan and the U.S. Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP

Vice Chancellor urged that teaching is a dynamic process and faculty members should equip themselves with the latest technology of teaching methods to empower our students to meet the challenges faced nationally and globally.

Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir emphasized that faculty members should replicate skills and the latest teaching methodology gained by them in this two-day workshop to enhance quality teaching and learning at UG.

During the program, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, Prof. Syed Manzoor Ahmed, addressed the participants. Prof. Ahmed highlighted the importance of active learning strategies in modern education. He stressed the value of utilizing case studies as an effective pedagogical tool and encouraged faculty members to develop local case studies relevant to the region's context.

The faculty members from different departments of the University of Gwadar participated in the workshop. The theme of the workshop was "Promoting Innovative Teaching in Higher Education Institutions of Pakistan: An Active Learning Approach for Faculty Development".  

Besides enhancing faculty development and equipping educators with contemporary effective teaching strategies to improve the quality of education in the region, this training workshop was also aimed to provide a platform to the faculty members of the University for sharing innovative teaching practices, exchanging ideas, and learning from each other's experiences. 

At the end of the two-day training program, the participants were awarded certificates of completion. Prof. Syed Manzoor Ahmed, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, presented the certificates to the participants.

During the workshop, UoB was represented by Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmed and Assistant Prof. Mr. Furqan ul Haq. Mr. Fida Hussain and Mr. Ubaid Ali from the Management Sciences Department University of Gwadar served as resource persons.
