World Thalassemia Day Turns into a Life-Saving Initiative at the University of Gwadar.

On the occasion of World Thalassemia Day, the University of Gwadar, in collaboration with the Hope Foundation, organized a blood donation camp on May 8, 2025, aimed at supporting children suffering from thalassemia.
The camp witnessed overwhelming participation from university students, faculty members, and administrative staff, who came forward to donate blood and express solidarity with thalassemia patients. The drive began on an emotional note, as thalassemia-affected children cut a symbolic cake to mark the day, reminding everyone of the lives that rely on regular blood donations.
Key figures present at the event included Mr. Dolat Khan, Registrar of the University of Gwadar; Dr. Raheem Bakhsh Mehr, Controller of Examinations; Dr. Abdul Hafeez, Medical Superintendent at District Headquarters Hospital Gwadar; Dr. Muhammad Irshad, Director ORIC; Mr. Qadir Jan, President of the Paramedical Staff; and Mr. Anwar Essa, Founder of the Hope Foundation. Their presence added to the spirit of the initiative, alongside a large gathering of faculty members and students.
In his message, Vice Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, stated that the university is committed to social welfare initiatives. He appreciated the active participation of faculty, staff, and students in this noble cause, calling it an exemplary act of community service.
