Scholarship Distribution Ceremony for Gwadar Students by the Chinese Consul General

A prestigious scholarship distribution ceremony was held at the Pak-China Business Center located at Gwadar Port, where the Chinese Consul General awarded scholarships to support the socio-economic upliftment of students from Gwadar. These scholarships were granted to students from Gwadar studying in the University of Gwadar and various universities across Balochistan and Pakistan, including those in medical, engineering, and other important fields.
The scholarships were awarded based on the students' financial background and academic merit.
The ceremony was attended by GOC 44 Division Major General Adnan Sarwar Malik, Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Hamood ur Rehman, Brigadier Ehtisham of the 440 Brigade, Deputy General Manager of Gwadar Free Zone Mr. Leo Echo, Registrar of the University of Gwadar Mr. Daulat Khan, Deputy Director of Gwadar Port Mr. Munir Ahmed, Commodore Aurangzeb of the Pakistan Navy, various civil and military officers, media representatives, and a large number of students.
During the event, various documentaries based on Pak-China developmental cooperation were presented, giving a detailed overview of Gwadar Port and the city’s future.
Speakers at the event stated that this scholarship initiative is not only a message of prosperity for Gwadar but also for Balochistan and Pakistan as a whole. They emphasized that such efforts further strengthen the mutual trust and friendship between Pakistan and China. Students were encouraged to treat this scholarship not merely as a gift, but as a responsibility—an opportunity to refine their talents.
It was also announced that Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed with Beijing University in the months of July and February, to offer further international academic opportunities for students from Gwadar. Special thanks were extended to the Chinese Consul General and the Government of China.
Addressing the ceremony via video link, the Chinese Consul General, Mr. Yang Liandong, described the scholarship initiative as a remarkable symbol of growing Pakistan-China friendship. He also deeply appreciated the academic performance of the University of Gwadar and extended heartfelt thanks to its administration.
At the end of the ceremony, GOC Major General Adnan Sarwar Malik distributed scholarship cheques among the students and presented a symbolic cheque to the Registrar of the University of Gwadar.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Consul General and the Deputy Commissioner of Gwadar for awarding scholarships to university students. He expressed hope that these scholarships would help students showcase their abilities more effectively.
