The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), University of Gwadar, held a significant strategic meeting on May 20, 2025, to review the ongoing process and requirements for its registration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. The meeting was chaired by Director ORIC, Dr. Irshad Buledi, and attended by key ORIC team members, including Mr. Zulfukar, Manager Innovation and Commercialization, and Mr. Shahnawaz, Manager Research Management. The session also had the guidance and encouragement of the university’s top leadership, including Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed, who have been instrumental in steering ORIC’s vision forward. The primary agenda focused on aligning ORIC’s structure, objectives, and operational strategies with HEC standards to ensure a smooth and successful registration. Participants discussed strategic frameworks, compliance measures, and future goals aimed at strengthening the university's research ecosystem and innovation capacity. Director ORIC emphasized the importance of this milestone, stating that HEC registration will not only validate ORIC’s efforts but also open new avenues for research collaboration, funding opportunities, and the commercialization of innovative ideas. The meeting concluded with a set of actionable steps and a strong commitment from all members to fulfill the HEC registration requirements in a timely and effective manner.
