He said that every possible effort is being made to ensure that the youth not only build a better future for themselves but also play their role in shaping the future of the country and the nation. In this regard, he said, a Vice Chancellor is not merely the head of an institution of higher education but also plays a key role in shaping the future of the younger generation, promoting modern research, and determining the intellectual direction of society. He expressed these views while speaking with Vice Chancellor University of Gwadar, Professor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, and Vice Chancellor University of Turbat, Professor Dr. Gul Hassan, at Governor House, Quetta. On the occasion, Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail said that Balochistan’s vast coastline holds significant economic and commercial potential for the future. He noted that Gwadar and Turbat are important not only because of their geographical significance but also because they offer exceptional opportunities in the fields of the blue economy, maritime trade, fisheries, coastal management, and marine resources. Keeping this promising future in view, the Governor said, both the University of Gwadar and the University of Turbat have major responsibilities to align their academic programmes and research priorities with local economic needs and to prepare their students for emerging fields, including the blue economy, coastal belt management, marine sciences, and fisheries and maritime trade. Governor Mandokhail further said that in today’s world, human resources are more important than natural resources. If the youth are equipped with quality education, digital technology, and modern skills, the natural resources of Balochistan can create opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and prosperity for the people of the province. He said that his foremost priority is the promotion of quality education. To turn this vision into reality, he stressed that the wholehearted cooperation of all Vice Chancellors and other relevant stakeholders is essential.
