First Meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB) Held at the University of Gwadar Gwadar, 14 November 2025 The first meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board of the University of Gwadar was held at the Pak-China Technical & Vocational Institute, presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir. Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed, Registrar Dr. Dolat Khan, Controller of Examinations Dr. Rahim Bakhsh Mehr, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Dean Faculty of Science & Engineering Dr. Mohib Ullah, Director ORIC Dr. Muhammad Irshad, and Director QEC Dr. Rabia Aslam also attended the meeting. The meeting commenced with a detailed briefing on the mandate, objectives, and core functions of the Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB). A thorough review of key points aimed at strengthening the academic and research framework of the university followed this. During the session, the board approved the ToRs, rules, and regulations of the Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB), new postgraduate programs, and the appointment of supervisors and co-supervisors for postgraduate research. Furthermore, the board formally approved the adoption of the Research Ethics Policy, the HEC Pakistan Anti-Plagiarism Policy, the establishment of the Institutional Ethical Review Committee, the formation of a Research Journal and Publication Policy, and the creation of sub-committees of the Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB). Matters related to research funding and grants were also discussed in detail, while the board reviewed quality assurance mechanisms in research and approved the thesis format guidelines. The MS/MPhil programs in Management Sciences, Chemistry, and Education were also evaluated during the meeting. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir stated: "The University of Gwadar is consistently striving to promote research, innovation, and high academic standards. This inaugural meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board further strengthened the University of Gwadar’s vision to emerge as an impactful research and academic institution at both national and regional levels.
