The Department of Commerce at the University of Gwadar (UG) has approved the launch of a new BS E-Commerce degree program during its recent Board of Studies (BoS) meeting. This initiative responds to the growing demand for skilled professionals in digital business and aligns with modern market trends. The meeting was held at the PCTVI Meeting Hall, University of Gwadar, and began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. The primary agenda was to finalize the curriculum for the new four-year BS E-Commerce program, ensuring it meets industry requirements and complies with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Undergraduate Policy 2023. The meeting was Chaired by Mr. Zain Ul Abideen, Chairperson, Department of Commerce, UG including other members Dr. Jan Mohammad, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Commerce & Social Sciences, UG. Dr. Muhammad Amir, Associate Professor, Hailey College of Commerce, University of the Punjab, Lahore. Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Badini, Chairperson, Department of Commerce, University of Turbat. Dr. Kamber Farooq, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Sciences, UG, and Mr. Mujahid Hussain, Lecturer, Department of Commerce, UG. The board members reviewed and refined the BS E-Commerce curriculum, discussing each semester in detail. Key modifications were made to ensure the program remains industry-relevant and up-to-date with digital business trends. After thorough deliberations, the Board of Studies unanimously approved the program. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants for their valuable input. The BS E-Commerce degree will equip students with essential skills in online business, digital marketing, and e-commerce management, preparing them for emerging career opportunities in Pakistan's growing digital Business. This development marks another step forward for the University of Gwadar in providing quality, market-driven education.
