No other investment can yield as
great a return for a society as investing in
higher education, for an educated and skilled
workforce is the bedrock of progress and
prosperity of the people. Education should be
our single most important priority. Governments
and communities should dream of nothing
else. Countries like South Korea, Singapore,
Vietnam, Taiwan, Malaysia and China who have
leapfrogged in growth and development and
shared opulence in the recent past, have all
placed education at topmost priority. Yet in the
first five decades post-independence we as a
nation lacked that single-minded determination
for education in general and particularly
territory education.
The University of Gwadar established in October 2021 is a
multidisciplinary institute with an
overarching aim to provide affordable quality education to our youth who
can provide skilled labour
force, leadership and stewardship for the development of Balochistan and
Pakistan. The University
is focused on providing its students with an outstanding education that
equips them with the skills
they need to make an impact in their future careers. At University of
Gwadar, we are committed to
impart knowledge, skills and values of critical thinking and creativity
in our students.
I am truly honoured to become the first Pro-Vice Chancellor of the
University. In just one year time the progress we have made in striving
towards our vision, and achievements would not have been possible without
the talent, expertise, commitment and passion of our faculty and staff.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their invaluable
contribution to the University.
